John Veysey

Executive Officer

National Science Board

John has been serving as the National Science Board's Executive Officer and Office Director since January 2017. He has BS in physics from Yale and a PHD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research has included radar systems, microbial genomics, theoretical fluid mechanics, and pattern formation at Yellowstone’s Mammoth Hot Springs. He came to DC through an AAAS fellowship with Senator Robert Menendez and worked on Capitol Hill for five years, most recently as Legislative Director for Congressman Daniel Lipinski. Before becoming Executive Officer, John served the Board as a Science and Engineering Policy analyst.
